Pontiac G6 GTP sedan and coupe models receive a new 3.6l V6 engine with continuously variable valve timing for the 2007 model year, while the GTP model is dropped on convertible versions.

Except for that, changes are limited to the addition of standard side-impact airbags and head curtain airbags on all sedan and coupe models.

For 2006, the Pontiac G6 sedan gets lower prices and two new engines, an entry-level 2.4l 4-cylinder for the Base model and a more powerful 3.9l V6 for top-of-the-line GTP models.

In addition, a coupe with space for five and a four-seater hardtop convertible, both available with 6-cylinder engines only, join the line-up.
